To raise your table at a craft show to a comfortable level, just add one foot
pieces of pvc pipe to the legs of your table. Your table covering will hide the pvc
pipe, and you can put a stood behind it.

Clean copper jewelry with lemon juice.

Use an toothbrush to add patina to your pieces.

Apply
WD-40 to your jewelry tools to keep them working properly.

Beeswax makes a great lubricant for saw blade

Mint tins and empty prescription bottles make great storage containers for
beads and findings.

Don't have a mandrel for forming ear wires. No problem, use a sharpie marker.

Emery boards make great sanding tools, cheap too.

Prevent tarnish on copper and nickel silver. Clean wire in 1/2 water and 1/2
vinegar. Dry and polish with Nu Finish car wax. (Nu finish is a polymer, so it last
longer).

Polish jewelry by dipping fingers in water then into baking soda and rub over
jewelry to polish. Can be used with a polishing pad.

How to use liver of sulfur- clean jewelry with a small amount of soap and
ammonia mix. Heat water and add small amount of liver of sulfur and mix then
drop the piece to be oxidized into the liver of sulfur solution. Remove and drop
into a bowl of water and baking soda to neutralize stopping the oxidization.

For
different colors of patina mix a small amount of ammonia in the liver of
sulfur solution. Try different amounts for different effects.

To
clean your tumblers and stainless steel shot mix, add water to cover
shots and about 1/4 cup of baking soda. Let run for about 30 minutes then
rinse.

When
cleaning plated wire, Do not tumble, it will remove the plated layer. Use
an ionic cleaner, it won't harm the plated layer of metal, but will give a beautiful
shine to it.

I heard that you can use a super saturated white vinegar &  salt solution to
remove the firescale from your copper pieces after fusing them together. Put
in crock pot on a low heat. Or for a less smelly recipe, you can use Citric Acid
that you find at stores on the canning isle, used for pickling.

8 Different Ways to Add a Patina to Your Jewelry

Copper jewelry is becoming very popular, and I love working with copper wire.  I
love the beautiful earthy tones that you can get when using liver of sulfur,
depending on how long you leave it in the liver of sulfur solution, and how long
I let it tumble. Or you can just let it change naturally over time.
But did you know that you can achieve a green verdigris patina by using two
household items. I found this video on
Wire-Sculpture, thought you might be
interested in watching it .
Recipe 3 parts ammonia, 2 parts vinegar. Mixed together and store in a bottle.

Patina's

Liver of Sulfur- Give your silver or copper jewelry a lovely antique look by
applying liver of sulfur. LOS comes in a gel, or rock form. I like the gel form the
best. You will want to use it in a well ventilated area, because it is very smelly.
